Sid Daly Another great stoner/doom band from Ireland. These guys have turned a lot of heads already. I predict a bright future! Favorite track: The Warlock.

Sonny92 Northern Ireland's Elder Druid's debut is a five-track ep of down and dirty, sludgey doom that sounds as if it was conceived in a contaminated swamp rather than on the streets of Ballymena - and I mean that in a good way..

The Dictator makes his presence in the street Royal wolf walking among bleeting sheep There's something not right about how the wind blows There's a smell in the air thats funny on his nose He hears the whispers; never heard the malicous intent He never picked up on that superstitous scent With a push and shove his senses are thrown Usually he'd heed the threats of the crone That conspriring bastard smiles, his eyes an arch "That washed-up soothsayer bewares the Ides of March" Beware the Ides of March He who wrote the calender, Makes his presence in the street Royal Wolf, sceptical of the sheep Treachery lingers around him -circling the senate The deviant ruse of safety they pretended A glance in Brutus' eyes seals his fate A repsonsive leer tells Caeser now is late A stab in the back isnt the act that offended It's brought to light that his death was impended That conspiring bastard smiles, with his eyes an arch That washed-up soothsayer, bewares the Ides of March Beware the Ides of March

The Warlock 07:46
Segregated village, shipwrecked bay, Locals fear the evil games he plays. Unbeknownst to them, he's in control, They're all in the act and they all play a role. Wicked magic- for demented ends, Mortal life as currency, the warlock spends. Oblivious to Him with his cloaked facade, Just a haggard man in a mountain, who's gone mad. The Warlocks cackle echoes through the valley, Black sheep who follow, at the foothills they rally. Marionettes, in his grand design, To march the villagers deep into the mine, In the depths of the dark, brainwashed, soldiers, Black candle ashes and pentacle smoulders. Wicked magic- for demented ends, Mortal life as currency, the warlock spends. Oblivious to Him with his cloaked facade, Just a haggard man in a mountain, who's gone mad He lifts back his hood and from below his guise, He looks at each of them, right in the eyes. The cloak, drops to the floor--and through the dust- he's vanished, Death is coming to those, who had him banished. The warlock cackles.-alongside his legion, He's enslaved this village, Now to doom the whole region, No escape from demise, When the sky rips and crackles, Louder than thunder, the Warlock cackles.

Scarab 05:07
Only scarabs survived the fire- An empire with a Queen on the throne, Stone from our cities built their spire, a bestial infra-order summoned to grow Meadows and cities dissipate- chewed by the jaws, swallowed by the mouth Havoc- used to reach the clouds, coveting the sky brought the drought What used to be rolling plain, Has now turned to sand. How many years without the rain? Queen of the scarabs now Queen of the land Plague of the scarabs Desert dogma lifts Queen of the scarabs Dogs of war, let slip An iron-handed cornucopia, swarming scarabs ravenous to claim Expanding their Utopia, they want the sky now that this world is in flames By the clench of her fist, the desert sculpts itself under her handicraft A relic not thought to exist, makes the crocodiles cry as the jackals laugh What used to be rolling plain, Has now turned to sand. How many years without the rain? Queen of the scarabs now Queen of the land Plague of the scarabs Desert dogma lifts Queen of the scarabs Dogs of war, let slip The Desert was sculpted, by her handicraft The crocodile cries - As the jackal laughs Chewed by the jaws, swallowed by the mouth Coveting the sky brought the drought

I've found myself in the darkness, amongst the trees I turn myself towards a branch with a noose, labelled for me The devil came to me and said I should be dead He ran his finger-nail down my forehead He carved an inverted cross and it trickled red I shiver at what he says "Its better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven" I'm gonna one up my master so i'm 667 I accepted his offer with gratuity Little does he know the devil will soon be me Annointed by the council who instil mortal fright Devils sword to coronate passes by each ears, left then right. A standing ovation from the henchmen of Hades Finally rewarded for the cruciality of my evil deeds "Its better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven" I'm gonna one up my master so i'm 667 I accepted his offer with gratuity Little does he know the devil will soon be me Backwards he recited me the book of the damned Then he placed his royal dagger in my hand I'm the only one here thats alive The demons see and know I'll reign hell with insight Backwards he recited me the book of the damned Then he placed that royal dagger in my hand

Recorded, produced, mixed & mastered by Andy Shields (Hornets)

"Elder Druid is a stoner/doom outfit from Northern Ireland that has a strong love for molten fuzz. With the combination of styles, it would be justified to say the guys are a happy middle ground between bands like Sleep and Electric Wizard. Magicka is great beginning to what Elder Druid could lead up to. The band’s effective use of balancing different styles and sounds has helped them stand out as a band worth keeping an ear out for. 8/10"
- Metal Injection

"Lifted from the band’s latest EP, Magicka, the band have unveiled the video to their pulverizing new single, ‘Rogue Mystic’. Featuring suitably warped, arcane archive imagery courtesy of Gryphus Visuals, the six-minute effort conjures the fuzzed-out, hazy heft of everyone from Down at their most vengeful, Come My Fanatics-era Wizard, hints of very early Melvins and – in its strutting outro – Kyuss circa Wretch. More of the same, please."
- The Thin Air

"You have Sleep, you have Bong Cauldron, you have Pallbearer and then you have Elder Druid"
- Simon Hall (Bloodstock)

"Magicka" is a superb EP both for new listeners and those already familiar with Elder Druid's excellent mix of riff heavy sludge and doom. The bands selection of Andy Shields as producer/mixer/engineer has paid off in spades, the Hornets man has reinvigorated the bands sound, sanding off some of their rougher edges and polishing them until they gleam but doing so without losing any of the bands feral intensity and attack, a match made in Heaven (or should that be Hell)"
- Desert Psychlist

"The first track on the EP is Rogue Mystic and this sets the scene nicely for what is to come. This gives Black Sabbath a run for their money in the doom stakes with Elder Druid arguably winning by a hairs breadth. As we move through the remainder of the tracks it is clear Elder Druid have “got” what this doom genre is all about and exploit it to the full."
- PlanetMosh

"Few bands get a visceral reaction out of me, you know the kind that makes a grown man want to embarrass himself by yelling in public spaces. If you don’t know this Belfast five-piece, this EP should put some fire in yer belly and green in your blood. A very promising start from a young band that clearly is serious about shaping its craft."
- Doomed & Stoned

"Chunky riffs, aggressive vocals, stompin' groove. Mean stoner rock."
- Ultimate Guitar

"The simmering paces provide a plodding approach to much of the music itself while the aggro-tinged vocals exude the same intensity of the music itself, a bit of a bluesy nod in the music is always detectable as well. That adds a noticeable earthiness and low end to the smouldering grooves and the grittier aspects of everything contained in “Magicka“, a most ultra-solid outing from the lads in Elder Druid."
- Metal Nexus

"These guys have tickled me pink; purely out of the aspect of being so damn unique in their sound a.k.a darklord given noise. Rhythm and Lead guitars have patience and timing on their side, never looking to interrupt each other's jamming quality, a polite dance of two distinctive strains blended together."
- The Headbanger's Haven

"If you haven't acquainted yourself with Elder Druid then this is the best possible time as 'Magicka' will leave you in a deep hypnotic trance. Elder Druid are perhaps one of the best upcoming bands to emerge from the Doom/Sludge/Stoner Metal scene in 2016. If this is classed as their debut EP then I can't wait to hear their full length record."
- Outlaws of the Sun

"It doesn’t take a genius to work out who Elder Druid are influenced by. Heavy classic Sabbath riffage with a heavy Sleep/High on Fire touch and a little bit of psychedelia around the edges to create a thick enjoyable sound for the ears. Mentally altered or not, you’re in for a fantastic time when you put on Magicka and stare at the spliff smoking demon dude on the cover"
